Members will examine the role of activism in their lives and explore the particular challenges of activism.  Members will discuss how to balance activism with other areas of their life and share how activists can support one another.

There are two modules to this course offered in collaboration with United Way - Centraide Canada's Labour Programs and Services. The first module aims at providing tools that will help prevent activist burnout. The objectives are:

  1. To examine the role of activism in the participant’s life
  2. To understand the particular challenges activism holds
  3. To allow participants to examine the way activism fits in with other areas of their life
  4. To explore how activists can support one another

The second module deals with how to support activists managing their time so they can live full lives and achieve their activist goals. The objectives are:

  1. To explore the role of time in achieving goals
  2. To explore barriers to activism
  3. To understand the process of time management – budgeting, scheduling and tracking
  4. To identify supports for effective time management
