The Members with Disabilities Action Committee (MDAC) is made up of members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada who have disabilities. MDAC welcomes members with disabilities, whether physical, sensory or mental, either permanent or temporary in duration.
The purpose of the committee is to ensure that PSAC members are given the opportunity to participate fully in their union and in their workplace. MDAC serves as a forum where members can share information and address issues of concern.
The committee meets the first Thursday of every month at 11 Holland Avenue in the Pat McGrath Boardroom (near the food court on the main floor behind the post office). Please check the events calendar for more information.
MDAC has been instrumental in raising awareness in the Alliance on a number of disability issues. PSAC now has two policy papers in this area: "Alternate Media" and "Employment Equity for Members with Disabilities". The National Board of Directors also passed the "PSAC National Action Plan on Disability Issues" in 1997.
