Meeting Accessibility
The REVP’s Office is committed to an inclusive community of labor activism with accessible activities, services and facilities that respect the dignity and independence of persons with disabilities. To make this meeting more accessible, organizers have taken the following into consideration:
- Zoom offers automatically generated live captions for every meeting which will be turned on at the start of the meeting
- Keyboard shortcuts for Zoom can be helpful and delegates can access a list of them here
- Meeting documents will be planned, formatted, and structured in an accessible manner to ensure they are compatible with assistive technology tools.
Members who have questions, concerns, or feedback about access are encouraged to reach out to the REVP directly at laumacr@psac-afpc.com.
Expenses:
Most costs related to a delegates attendance at the meeting will not be reimbursed (i.e. No per diem, meals or travel costs). Please note that there will be no compensation for overtime.
Delegates who are regularly scheduled to work on a Saturday are eligible for compensation of salary upon receipt of official work or shift schedule.
Actual loss of salary will be reimbursed for working hours lost in order to attend the meeting and eligible delegates should request a Union Authorization Letter (UAL) from the Office of the Regional Executive Vice-President.
Where a delegate with a disability incurs additional expenses related to the accommodation of that disability, these expenses will be reimbursed provided they are reasonable and pre-authorized. Receipts are required.
Family Care:
Where the member is the sole caregiver at the time of this meeting, the PSAC Family Care Policy (FCP) will cover costs for care during the day outside normal work/school/daycare hours. Members are entitled to claim fees related to the care of the following family members who reside on a full or part-time basis with the member:
- A child under 18 years of age.
- A person with disability
- An adult, who is dependent, requiring care.
Delegates are encouraged to review the PSAC FPC prior to registration and should indicate their request via the meeting registration form.
