Introduction to Health and Safety in the Workplace for Stewards – English Course

November 4-5 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Description 
Participants will examine why workplace health and safety is a union issue and explore the historical efforts made by unions for healthy and safe workplaces.  Members will also be able to familiarize themselves with union perspectives on healthy and safe workplaces, with the internal responsibility system and increase their knowledge on the rights and responsibilities of workers and employers.   

Who is this training for? 
This training is intended only for health and safety stewards active in their workplace

Time commitment 
The virtual training is given over two days. 

Objectives 
The introductory health and safety course aims to equip health and safety representatives to fully play their role as union representatives with their employer.  They will be better equipped to demand compliance with regulations and laws concerning the health and safety of workers in their workplace.
