By the end of this module, participants will be able to: 

  • Recognize and talk about how unions are good for workers and for broader society 
  • Know a little more about the labour movement and about the history of the PSAC  
  • Identify current trends and challenges for the labour movement and broader society  
  • Explore ways that the Steward can engage, and encourage members to engage, in broader labour, environmental and social justice issues.

  • Prioritize new stewards to encourage broader participation.
  • Reflect the diversity of our membership to ensure inclusivity.
  • Consider the date of registration if all other factors are equal.

This course is intended for Stewards or Local Officers who have had Steward Training (i.e. Grievance Handling our Advanced Steward Training or experience with representation). - Ce cours s'adresse aux délégués syndicaux ainsi qu'aux dirigeants des sections locales (par exemple, le cours sur le règlement des griefs ou un cours pour délégués syndicaux ou qui possèdent une expérience en matière de représentation).
