The 7th Triennial Convention of the NCR of the Public Service Alliance of Canada will take place May 5-7, 2017, in the Ottawa Salon of the Ottawa Convention Centre (Shaw Center, 55 Colonel By Dr, Ottawa, ON K1N 9J2). Registration starts at 8a.m. 

Please refer to the entitlement list in order to know how many delegates your local can register for this Convention. If you are unable to attend, please feel free to nominate potential alternates.

The credentials must be received in the Regional Executive Vice Presidents' office no later than March 3rd, 2017. There is no registration fee. 


Resolutions to the Regional Convention can be submitted by the Regional Council, Locals, Branches, Regional Women’s committees, Area Councils, Equity Committees and recognized PSAC regional committees. All resolutions are to be received by the Office of the PSAC NCR REVP no later than Februray 15th, 2017.   To help you in the process, you may click here to consult the checklist for writing a good resolution

Leave without pay for delegates will be covered by PSAC NCR for Friday May 5, 2017. In addition, if you are scheduled to work on Saturday May 6 and/or Sunday May 7, PSAC NCR will also reimburse your loss of salary for those days; your work schedule is required. Lunch per diems will be provided for delegates for May 5 and 6th, 2017. Parking and taxi fees will be reimbursed by PSAC NCR for delegates; receipts are required. Mileage for delegates travelling more than 40 km one way will be reimbursed per PSAC mileage rates.

A block of hotel rooms has been reserved for our Convention at the Westin Ottawa (11 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa, ON, K1N 9H4). Hotel accommodations will be provided for delegates who reside 40 km or farther (one way). Delegates are responsible for their own hotel reservations. Delegates will be reimbursed for family care with the separate family care subsidy that is available in accordance with the PSAC Family Care Policy. Receipts are required.

Positions Open for Elections

As a result of a decision by delegates at the 2003 PSAC Convention, Regional Executive Vice-Presidents and their Alternates are to be elected at Convention.  Any PSAC member in good standing in the National Capital Region is entitled to run for these two positions.  The nominator and the seconder must be accredited delegates to the National Capital Region Convention. Below is the list of all the positions up for elections at the Convention:
