Ottawa Area Council (OAC) – AGM 2024 – Hybrid meeting
March 13, 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m
Are you interested in being more involved in PSAC activities in the NCR? Are you passionate about political action and social justice? The PSAC-NCR Ottawa Area Council (OAC) will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, March 13 from 5:30 – 7 PM ET on Zoom or in person, in the Pat McGrath boardroom on the 6th floor of 233 Gilmour. A light meal will be served around 5:00pm for in-person attendees.
What is the OAC?
The Ottawa Area Council focuses on political action and takes the lead in organizing Labour Day and May Day events, political lobbying & campaigning, and on issues of the day (elections, bargaining issues, etc.) The OAC meets at least 6 times a year and executive meetings are called as needed.
OAC Executive Officers are volunteers who take a leadership position on the Council, work collaboratively with members of the union as well as community organizations, and who are passionate about political action and social justice.
Elections
During the AGM, elections will be held for the following Executive positions:
- Chair
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Directors (3)
- Alternate Directors (3)

Anyone interested in running for a position at the AGM is welcome to run from the floor, or they can submit a Nomination Form to the chair of the nominations committee taitw@psac-afpc.com. To run for a position, or vote at the AGM, members must be registered as a delegate. To become a delegate to the OAC, please fill out our Affiliation Form. Meetings of the OAC are also open to Observers which includes community organizers, members of the broader union family, as well as unrepresented workers. To attend the AGM as an observer, please fill out our Registration Form.
