PRIDE Event – Two-Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQ+ Awareness Day – May 14, 2024

March 21 was Two-spirit and Indigenous LGBTQ+ “Awareness to Celebration” Day.
To mark this day, the Pride Committee, in collaboration with the Indigenous Action Circle, are hosting a zoom virtual event about brining awareness and recognizing Two-spirit as part of the 2SLGBTQI+ Community.
This event will be held May 14th, 2024 from 6pm until 7pm right after the Pride committee meeting.
The PSAC-Union of National Employees National President (UNE), Alisha Campbell, will be the special guest and she will share her experience as union activist and human right advocate, as well as how to find common ground, support, promote and assist the Two-spirit community, raise awareness around intersectionality in order to celebrate and empower. Following her 30 minutes presentation, there will be a question and answer period.
Attendees will be required to register in advance but do not require a Zoom account to participate. The deadline for registration is May 10th, 2024.

The event will be in English with simultaneous interpretation provided in French.
The Pride Committee meeting will be held from 5:00pm until 5:45pm. PSAC Pride members from the NCR and other regions across Canada are encouraged to attend both. PSAC members who identify as allies to the 2SLGBTQI+ community are also welcome to attend both. Register for the Pride Committee meeting here.
