We Stand with Security

Security workers at the Bank of Canada keep people safe, manage risk, and carry out demanding work with professionalism every day. They deserve respect at the bargaining table, but they aren’t getting it.

Members of Local 71250 Bank of Canada Security have bargained in good faith, tabling a full monetary package on October 14, 2025, and are now in conciliation. Their demands are reasonable: fair wages that keep pace with rising costs, premiums that reflect the realities of the job, safer workplaces with proper equipment, transparent processes, and stronger job security. These aren’t extras, they’re basics.

Instead of meaningful negotiations, the employer has responded with delay and disrespect.  They’ve shown up without a formal response to the team’s proposals, then refused to meet in person or schedule further dates. They aren’t bargaining – they’re stalling.

Our members are ready to negotiate. Conciliation offers a chance to move forward if the employer is prepared to take it seriously. The question is simple: will the Bank come to the table ready to bargain fairly?

Until then, members’ frustration is justified. Security workers deserve better, and they deserve a contract that reflects the value of their work. PSAC-NCR stand with them.
