PSAC-NCR is pleased to announce that members of the Union of National Employees (UNE) Local 70401, representing workers at Ingenium, have ratified a new collective agreement. Members ratified the new agreement on July 2.
Ingenium is Canada’s museum network, which includes the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, and the Canada Science and Technology Museum. Members of UNE Local 70401 play an important role in preserving Canada’s scientific and technological heritage while creating engaging educational experiences for visitors from across the country.
The new collective agreement includes wage increases that exceed inflation, protections regarding artificial intelligence and technological changes, improved job security for precarious and temporary positions, improved access to leave for casual and student workers, and more, reflecting the strength of members’ collective action throughout bargaining.
“Congratulations to the members of the Union of National Employees Local 70401 on ratifying their new collective agreement,” said Regional Executive Vice-President Ruth Lau MacDonald. “This agreement is the result of members standing together with a shared commitment to achieving meaningful improvements in their workplace.”
PSAC-NCR congratulates the bargaining team and thanks every member for their engagement throughout the bargaining process.
