The Public Service Alliance of Canada in the National Capital Region, will be hosting a special Human Rights Day event on December 10, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The event will take place in the J.K. Wyllie Conference Room at 233 Gilmour Street, Ottawa. This celebration is open to all members for in-person (accessible) or virtual attendance, so everyone can participate. The Zoom link will be provided in your registration confirmation email.
December 10 marks International Human Rights Day, a moment every year when we recommit ourselves to dignity, equality, and justice for all. This day commemorates the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a global promise that every person, no matter who they are, where they live, or what challenges they face, is entitled to fundamental rights and freedoms.
In a world where discrimination, violence, and systemic barriers continue to impact communities both globally and here at home, International Human Rights Day is an opportunity to reflect, to learn, and to stand in solidarity with those whose voices have been marginalized. It is also a chance to recognize the power we hold collectively to advance equity, accessibility, and human rights across our workplaces, our unions and our communities.
If you plan on attending the event whether virtually or in person, please confirm your attendance by filling in the registration form below by December 10th at 4 p.m. Please also note that if you join the meeting using the dial-in option, you will not have access to interpretation.
As far as the evenings program, attendees can look forward to appetizers, selective meals (vegan incl), desserts, and beverages. There will be two guest speakers offering insight and inspiration, and two comedians who will bring levity, connection, and community spirit to the night.
We invite you to join us as we honour this important day, celebrate the leadership of our five equity groups, deepen our understanding, and strengthen our commitment to creating a more just, inclusive, and accessible future for all.
Together, we uphold human rights. Together, we can make change possible.
Thank you,
PSAC NCR Equity Committees
