The PSAC-NCR’s Pride committee is happy to invite you to join us at this year’s Capital Pride parade! Come join fellow union and community members, PSAC NCR’s Pride Committee, the Ottawa Area Council, as well as our National Vice President, Alex Silas and Regional Vice President, Ruth Lau MacDonald, to celebrate and to show solidarity with the queer community.
We welcome anyone who would like to join: members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, allies, family and loved ones, pets, and community members.
The agenda for the day will be:
10:30 a.m.: We will be meeting at 233 Gilmour Street to walk over to the parade staging area in front of City Hall together.
11:00 a.m.: Float decorating will begin at the parade staging area at 11 a.m. Attendees are welcome to meet us at the parade staging area if they would prefer (look for the PSAC flags).
12:30 p.m.: Those not joining us for decorating should meet up at 12:30 p.m. at the parade staging area.
1:00 p.m.: The march begins.
Limited free parking will be available at 233 Gilmour Street. Paid street parking will also be available near the parade route. If you are considering paid parking, please check street signage and public parking lots for rules.
Accessibility
- The march will be approximately 2 km with an estimated completion time of 50 minutes. If you are unable to walk the full length, you will be able to ride on our delegation’s float.
- The float will have music and loud noise.
- Accessible washrooms are located at the Marion Dewar Plaza, as well as along the festival route.
- Please dress appropriately for the weather. Bring sunscreen and a water bottle, as the weather may be hot.
