Happy International Women’s Day! The Ottawa Regional Women’s Committee is hosting a social and fundraiser Thursday March 16 from 6-8 pm at 233 Gilmour St for Dress for Success, a charity that provides women with tools and resources to achieve economic independence.
Dress for Success supports women by providing professional development workshops, mock interviews, cover letter and resume reviews, as well as clothing for interviews. They also accept monetary donations which goes toward professional development courses, interview preps and personalized suiting appointments.
Our theme for this fundraiser is Jewelry & Shoes however, we will gladly accept clothing (plus sizes 18+), and monetary donations.
Clothing Accepted
✅ Gently used, clean business appropriate shoes, and jewellery
✅ Gently used (or new) office appropriate suits and separates that are modern/current and in great interview ready condition in sizes 18+ and above. They should be laundered or dry-cleaned and ready to wear. (Not in need of repair or tailoring).
✅ Clothing must be seasonal. The organization does not have space to store out of season clothing.
Clothing Not Accepted
⛔ Exercise, lounging or denim clothing, running shoes or sneakers.
⛔ Novelty items such as t-shirts and sweaters with graphic logos or prints
⛔ Formal and/or evening wear
⛔ Clothing that is torn, missing buttons or dirty
⛔ Clothing that is in plastic garbage bags – think of your donation as a gift.
