PSAC-UNE and Unifor members at Best Theratronics are still on strike! They have been on the picket line since May 10, 2024 – a total of 248 days.
Since the beginning of this job action, their employer has refused to come to the bargaining table. The employer has actively blocked all attempts to resolve this dispute through the collective bargaining process. Our members deserve to be paid fairly, work in a safe environment and for their employer to negotiate in good faith.
We are calling on all PSAC NCR members and community partners to show solidarity and support for these members by attending their unfair labour practice hearing and visiting their picket line.
Attend the unfair labour practice hearing
PSAC and Unifor have filed complaints against Best Theratronics LTD about their unfair labour practices. Unfair labour practices are acts that interfere with a union’s right or ability to represent its members or an employee’s right to make up their own mind about whether to support a union. These rights are protected by the Canada Labour Code.
On January 14 and 15, PSAC-UNE Local 70369 will have their hearing with the Canadian Industrial Relations Board about our ULP complaint. During this hearing, the Board will hear about the tactics being used by this employer to interfere with our members’ right to collectively bargain. We are calling on our community to attend the virtual hearing as a show of support for these workers.

As the colder temperatures set in, PSAC NCR will be bringing warmth and support to the members on this picket line. This is why we are planning a gathering for members, community partners and allies to attend the Best Theratronics picket line.

There will be free snacks and warm beverages available. Attendees are asked to dress appropriately for the weather, including wearing warm weather gear like hats, scarves and gloves. Free parking is available onsite.
