Workers at Ottawa Airport reach tentative agreement

The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and the Union of Canadian Transportation Employees (UCTE) — a component of the PSAC — have reached a tentative agreement for members of Local 70701 working at the Ottawa Airport. This tentative agreement comes after members voted for a strike mandate this week.

The work that these members do is crucial to keeping the airport running and functional. Without their dedicated labor, the airport would not be able to operate as it does on a day-to-day basis.

The tentative agreement features a 12% wage increase over four years, which brings the Ottawa Airport in line with other airports in the country. It also features better health benefits, increases in shift and weekend premiums, and improvements to notification for seasonal employees.

The bargaining team expresses their appreciation and thanks to the membership for their strong show of support. They couldn’t have done this without the solidarity that members have shown through their mobilization and strike mandate.

More information about the tentative agreement will be provided at ratification meetings, which will be scheduled soon.
