The Essentials of Internal Organizing: from Theory to Practice

Friday, May 29 - Saturday, May 30 - 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

TBD

Organizing and mobilizing are two different ways to engage members. While both are essential, internal organizing focuses on recruiting members and developing activists to foster a long-term commitment toward building a stronger, more sustainable Local.

In this two-day course, participants will examine key aspects of internal organizing and learn how to build Local capacity by putting these principles into practice. We will explore mapping as a strategic tool, examine effective systems for tracking membership engagement, and discuss how to develop both an internal campaign and a compelling message around a central issue. Finally, we will master the art of the organizing conversation. Members who participate are expected to assist with NCR internal organizing for Treasury Board and assist with other organizing projects. Members will gain skills to carry out critical field work in the NCR.

This course will be conducted in both English and French with simultaneous translation
