Larry Rousseau re-elected Regional Executive Vice President for three years

(Gatineau) Delegates from the Public Service Alliance of Canada’s National Capital Region (PSAC NCR) today re-elected Larry Rousseau to a new three-year mandate to lead the union in the Ottawa-Gatineau region.

“I’m honoured to have received another mandate from the membership,” said Mr. Rousseau, following the elections. “The coming months are going to be critical, as the vast majority of PSAC members in the region enter negotiations with Treasury Board and the Conservatives ramp up for the 2015 election. I’m committed to ensuring that our union remains focused on getting a strong and fair collective agreement for all our members.”

The 2014 Triennial Regional Convention was held in Gatineau and was attended by approximately 200 delegates and observers. Mr. Rousseau, a Statistics Canada worker, was first elected Regional Executive Vice President for PSAC NCR in June 2011. The PSAC has a membership of approximately 50,000 in the NCR.
