The federal government is launching an unprecedented attack against collective bargaining and health and safety rules in the workplace. Bill C-4 (the federal Budget Implementation Act) is:
– taking away our right to negotiate who performs an essential service (thereby determining who can strike)
– limiting arbitrators’ independence and impartiality, and
– in some cases, abolishing the right to arbitration when there is an impasse at the bargaining table.
Bill C-4 also reduces considerably the health and safety protection in the workplace.
Come and learn more about the devastating effects of Bill C-4 on your rights.
We will be holding meetings in the National Capital Region:
The PSAC also urges its Locals to hold more meetings on the subject.
Please contact your Member of Parliament and let them know that you disapprove of Bill C-4. Click here to find your MP.
You can also ask your Member of Parliament to fight to remove the provisions relating to the health and safety of workers from the budget bill. Please look at the Canadian Labour Congress’ online campaign and take action!
