RMAC EXECUTIVE
Co-Chair – Sandra Griffith Bonaparte
Co-Chair – Edith Nganga
Secretary – Vacant
Treasurer – Tracey Evans
Vice-President of Communication – Anne-Marie Bostic
Ontario Federation of Labour Representative – Noha Haydari
On this International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, we pause to reflect on the enduring impact of racism in all its forms—and to reaffirm our collective responsibility to confront it.
Racial discrimination continues to shape lives, limit opportunities, and undermine dignity in our workplaces, communities, and institutions. It is not only a matter of individual attitudes, but of systems and structures that must be challenged and changed.
Today is a call to action. It is a reminder that silence is not neutrality, and that meaningful progress requires courage, accountability, and sustained commitment. We must listen to those most affected, amplify their voices, and work together to dismantle barriers that perpetuate inequality.
Let us commit to building spaces that are inclusive, respectful, and equitable—where diversity is not only acknowledged, but valued and celebrated. Each of us has a role to play in advancing justice, whether through our words, our actions, or our willingness to learn and unlearn.
Together, we can create a future where everyone is treated with fairness, dignity, and respect—free from discrimination.
Thank you.
RMAC executives.
The RMAC began with an idea in November, 1989 in the National Capital Region and became a formal organization by February, 1990, conducting special events to raise awareness about racism. In 1991, a similar group was formed in Toronto and later, in Calgary
Participation in the RMAC is open to all visible minority members of the Public Service Alliance. The Committee meets on the third Thursday of each month at 5:45 p.m. at 233 Gilmour Street.
