Alternation is a negotiated right in your collective agreement. It allows an opting or surplus member who wants to stay in the public service to exchange positions with a non-affected member who wants to leave. PSAC’s new platform makes it easy to find potential matches so you can take advantage of this important provision in your collective agreement. While PSAC created this platform to help connect members, the final decision about whether your alternation is accepted rests with management.

The session hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The virtual meeting room will open at 8:30 a.m., and we encourage members to join early to ensure a timely start to the meeting. The deadline for registration is October 10, 2025.
